aymont is a sharp typeface family drawn and created by Måns Grebäck during 2018.
It is brave and experimental, yet confident.

The family consists of ten high-quality fonts, five different weights and each weight as italic.
The weights are Jaymont Thin, Jaymont Light, Jaymont Medium, Jaymont Bold and Jaymont Black, each with an equally strong character.

The fonts support all European Latin-based languages, and contain ligatures and a wide range of useful symbols.

Ballinger began life as a single-weight proprietary typeface called baasic, designed for Dublin-based design office aad. baasic was intended as a plain, hardworking grotesque: a simple tool for clear communication. We’ve developed it into a fully-featured eight-weight family with matching italics. Sources include early 20th century jobbing sanses like Morris Benton’s News Gothic and Candia, a 70s-era typewriter face Josef Müller-Brockmann designed for Olivetti, which had unusually deep junctures that added energy to letters like m and n.

The family takes its name from Raymond A. Ballinger, the great mid-century American designer, author of ‘Lettering Art in Modern Use,’ and champion of elegance and readability. Ballinger has large counters and a generous x-height. Letters like a, e, and s open out gradually as they move from Thin to Black to maintain ample apertures, even in the darkest weights. Semi-oldstyle figures are available, as well as case-sensitive punctuation and delimiters. Italics incorporate subtle ogee curves to lend warmth and energy to the page or screen.

The addition of a monospaced version returns the Ballinger family to (some of) its roots: a 70s-era typewriter face called Candia, which Josef Müller-Brockmann designed for Olivetti. Ballinger Mono is designed on the same principles as its sister face: plain, sturdy forms with large counters, open apertures, deep junctures, and a generous x-height. It matches Ballinger’s eight weights, which makes it unusually versatile for a fixed-width face, and has been carefully rebalanced for ease of reading, like the classic jobbing sanses that inspired it. Oldstyle, inferior, and superior figures are available, as well as old-fashioned nut fractions.

NCT Larkspur consists of 12 main styles and 6 small cap styles. It supports all major European languages, Vietnamese, and multiple languages in the Cyrillic script. All styles have the same 1107 glyph character set.

Opentype features include fractions, ordinals, tabular and proportional styles for lining and oldstyle figures, small caps, and case sensitive punctuation.

Separate files with the lowercase replaced with small caps and the default figures replaced with oldstyle figures are ​included​ for people using applications where​ ​​O​pen​Type features don’t work.
