OMG! I never thought I'd finish this font! Actually, the idea came to me in the late 1990-ies, but the sketches lied at the bottom of the "fonts I will complete one day In the future" pile ... also called "fonts I most likely won't complete...EVER" pile! :) Anyway, I started up with letters for both upper and lowercase, no numbers or punctuation. I figured if people ever purchased this font, all they would need were upper- or lowercase letters. But the rest of the glyphs seemed to miss out, so I made the numbers and some punctuation. But I still found the font incomplete...therefore I redid all the punctuation (from "standard" punctuation to "picturish" punctuation) and added two additional sets of letters. Meaning that there is 4 different versions of letters to choose from: 2 different lowercase, and 2 different lowercase. I had a lot of fun drawing this font, and some fun doing the detective work finding out how the MANY lettershapes should look! I hop you too have fun using this font! :)

Sudtipos’ new sans serif font Replete is inspired by the mixture of aesthetics and philosophies found on the streets of metropolitan cities the world over. Buildings constructed throughout the twentieth century, including those made in the Art Deco style or influenced by the Bauhaus’s gospel, stand side-by-side as symbols of their time. Typography is one factor that bonds these vistas, and simultaneously further complexifies them. Art deco letters appear on storefronts and signage in Europe’s oldest cities and as remnants of the Golden Age of economic expansion for Latin America. Typography, like architecture, sometimes coexists in perfect harmony, and other times in ideological opposition. But it is these juxtapositions in places such as Shanghai, New York, London, Buenos Aires and Tokyo that shape each city’s identity. Replete is inspired by this mixture. We wanted to create a useful modern sans serif family – a set of 7 weights with playful geometric alternates – that allows you to combine characters including wide-width and filled letterforms. Replete is apt for long texts, and equally, for instances where letterforms can stand together like a cityscape. Rhetoric is a friendly display typeface that’s full of personality. The fonts are defined by their roman characters which could be described as “upright italic” – the style traditionally associated with a cursive character set has been applied to the roman glyphs. Rhetoric embraces its curves –exemplified by the voluptuous caps for /A/M/U/V/W/X/Y/ which further enhance this typeface’s quirky nature. You'll also find a Unicase E in Marlin Geo, when creating the uppercase Schwa glyph I thought, well why not flip it over and add it as a Unicase letter which perfectly compliments the geometric style of this font? What about the numbers in Marlin Geo? Does it have oldstyle and tabular figures? don't worry about it we've got you covered. In saltwater fishing the Marlin fish is considered the King of the ocean and a royal symbol in some cultures. So put on your flip flops then explore and discover the possibilities the all new Marlin font family has to offer. This next part is a story I'd like to share with you, it's about a man named Ric. Six years ago on a warm summer day I was cleaning out my garage and putting junk out on the curb for garbage pick up, a couple of hours went by and a man pulls up in his pickup truck, he gets out and starts looking through my garbage for anything he could sell at a yard sale. I invited him to come back to my garage to see if there was anything else he wanted for his yard sale, he accepted and backed his truck into my driveway. He was a man in his late sixties or early seventies with what appeared to be advanced arthritis in his knees so it took him a while to walk down to my garage. As we where loading items into his truck he asked me what I did for a living, I said that I work in pool construction and design type fonts, the man's eye light up with excitement, he said I'm Frederic Goudy's great nephew, I was named after my uncle, Goudy is my middle name but you can call me Ric. Frederic Goudy Bendel is his name aka Ric Bendel, Ric is a jazz musician in the Chicago area, he came by for a couple more weekends and helped me clean more junk out of my garage. I wish I had more time to sit and talk with Ric, however, care giving for family was still a big part of my life at the time. I like to dedicate Marlin Geo to Ric Goudy Bendel, thanks for helping me clean out my garage. Griff is a family of sans serif typefaces with unusual stroke contrast. The ‘middle’ parts of many of the fonts’ letterforms are drawn with much thinner strokes than those found in the rest of typeface. The Griff family includes 10 styles; these are five weights that range from Light through Bold, each with an upright and italic font. The typeface is a bit humanist in style; its strokes end in horizontal or vertical cuts, rather than in diagonals. The letterforms’ counters are also mostly open. The fonts’ x-height is tall, and the lowercase letters’ ascenders rise slightly above the height of the capitals. Speaking of Griff’s capital letters, they are a bit narrower in the feeling than the lowercase. Several of Griff’s letters feature ‘vertical’ line segments that are actually slightly diagonal – in terms of draughtsmanship – which livens up text set with the fonts considerably. Griff is anything but monotonous. In its upright fonts, the ‘a’ is double-storey, while the ‘g’ is single-storey (both are single-storey in the italics). The lowercase ‘f’ has a descender in the italic fonts, too. The typeface’s diacriticals marks are streamlined in form, and they look very slick. Griff is the work of Frode Helland, a type designer from Norway. The fonts are best used in larger sizes, where their details can come clearly into view.

Okta Neue is an extended version of Okta family, released on MyFonts in 2019. It inherits the best traits of Okta—great legibility, simple geometric letters shapes, low contrast across all styles—but also introduces what Okta fell short of: extensive language support and enhanced OpenType features. Working on Okta Neue, we strove to create a neutral typeface that would be a workhorse for designers, typographers and other font users alike. Building onto the familiar shapes of Okta, we tried to make them more neutral, at the same time preserving the unique character of the typeface. Certain characters remained the same, others have undergone a complete transformation, which left them better tailored for the wide implementation range of Okta Neue. The size of the character set in Okta Neue almost doubled compared with the original (1293 vs. 600) due to amplification of Extended Latin set and introduction of new alphabets: Extended Cyrillic, Greek (Basic and Polytonic) and Hebrew. The Cyrillic set also includes localized forms for such languages as Bulgarian, Serbian and many others. Okta Neue is super OpenType friendly: it knows how to do alternatives, contextual alternatives, switch various between stylistic sets and adjust the height of punctuation and symbols as you type.
